If you already follow my blog & Facebook page you will probably already know a bit about this particular couple. I have previously photographed Sophie's sister Gracie's wedding & since then photographed them for their business Squirrel Sisters; so by the time Sophie & Ian's wedding came along I felt like part of the family!
I was thrilled to be back in their parents' gorgeous home in Bath for the bridal prep. It's just the dream house for bridal prep with high ceilings & light flooding in through the large windows. Not to mention the stunning garden & as the sun was also shinning I was thanking my lucky stars! I decided to do a few complimenting images between Sophie & Gracie during the bridal prep as I thought it would be something special for both sisters to have, & of course their parents. So if you have looked at Gracie's wedding photos you will see a few similar images in this blog!
I dropped Rob a few minutes up the road to Lansdown Grove Hotel, where the Groom Ian & his troops were getting ready. Rob previously shot Gracie's wedding with me as well so I think they all realised the importance & convenience of having us both there again.
I loved Sophie's Stephanie Allin timeless & extremely classy dress complimented perfectly with the most AMAZING bouquet by Jill Jeffries. It sounds bizarre but the colours of the flowers really complimented Sophie's complexion - I'm not sure whether that's a thing, but I thought that anyway! It was also great working with the same hair (Jessi Graham) & makeup (Louisa Fleming) girls from Gracie's wedding who are both extremely talented.
The ceremony was in a cute TINY church up the road called St Mary's Charlcombe with probably one of the best Reverends from any wedding I have ever done. He brought out one of the Squirrel Sister health bars which had everybody in hysterics & he cleverly compared them to marriage. I thought it was a breath of fresh air having a church ceremony made so personal.
The wedding reception was at the Wick Farm which has lots of lovely spots for photos amongst picturesque grounds which we took full advantage of due to the weather! Yet again I was crying during the speeches - you would think I would get better with time but I seem to be getting worse with my emotions! Whilst the band Fully FunKtional were setting up there was sparklers & fireworks outside. I think this was the perfect time for this to happen rather than it usually being at the end of the evening, it broke up the evening perfectly & got everyone in the mood to go back inside for the first dance / party!
This family now holds a very special place in my heart & I am so so SO glad they found me, & I can't wait to hopefully photograph them for more special occasions & of course Squirrel Sister fun.
I'll let you scroll away to see the story of their day.
BIG LOVE. x
