This is England, so we can never ever rely on the weather. This is what Lyndsey & Oli thought when planning their wedding. Why not have it in November when it could be pouring down with rain in August? This couldn't have been proved more perfectly as their day was blessed with the most incredible winter light.
I started at Lyndsey's house in Coleshill where she was getting ready with her lovely Mum & bridesmaids, then from here we went to The Catholic Church of Saint Teresa in Coleshill for their ceremony. The wedding was very close to not being legal as Oli read his vows twice instead of Lyndsey following on - but not to worry this was quickly amended & caused rapturous laughter throughout the church. After a little throwing of confetti we all jumped in our cars & made our way to Grafton Manor in Bromsgrove.
I was the first to arrive which I always give myself a pat on the back for as it means I can go around photographing the venue, table & details before anyone arrives. As I have been so busy I hadn't had much chance to start thinking about Christmas but as soon as I walked in the Christmas songs were playing (requested by Lyndsey) & decorations were everywhere so I automatically got that warm festive feeling which was lovely! Lydnsey & Oli had London as their running theme for the day, so as well as arriving to the Church in black cabs, they had different tube stations as the table names & a red letterbox for the cards.
Lyndsey had previously let me know the secret of the day which was 'secret singer waiters', however even though I knew it was coming I was still fooled as they arrived at the wedding early in the day wearing the same uniform as all the waiters so I really did think they worked there. It wasn't until one came up to me when I was alone telling me they were "going to start soon", "OH MY - YOU'RE THE SECRET WAITER!"; I was very excited. They started before the main course & instantly everyone in the room was on board. I don't think I have ever laughed so much at a wedding watching everyone get up from their tables to dance, sing & wave their napkins in the air. I had never seen this at a wedding before so didn't really know what to expect but I absolutely loved it & think it's an amazing idea to get the party started & to create a great atmosphere. By the time the DJ started everyone was already warmed up!
I left this wedding feeling very lucky as we really did have the most beautiful light & skies; & I felt like I was part of the best party ever!
Here's a lovely message I received off Lyndsey after they had looked through their images:
"Hi Jess! Me and Oli looked through our wedding photos last night and they are an absolute dream, I can't thank you enough. My only criticism is that there are so many amazing ones to choose from I don't know how I'm going to cut it down. I will be recommending you to absolutely everyone. I have to be honest, the wedding photography wasn't the bit I was looking forward to as me and Oli hate posing and I have a tendency to blink, but you made it so easy and put everyone at ease. Thank you soooo much."
