I can't believe I am managing to fit blog posts in-between editing numerous weddings! I must love my job - a lot. Here's a little post on Louise & Steve's wedding, they got married at Brockencote Hall on August 13th. Rob had already filmed Louise numerous times through her business so he was their videographer, & I had the help of the lovely Alishia Love who assisted me as my second shooter.
It was lovely working with event planners Naime & Amy from The Aspiration Group as there was a lot going on at this wedding including a 'first look no see' between the bride & groom before the ceremony. I was so excited when Louise suggested she wanted to do this as I had never done it before. If you don't know what I'm talking about, it's just a small moment between the bride & groom without seeing each other before they get married. Some couples decide to hold hands with their eyes closed but I think Louise was that filled with emotion she didn't want to hold Steve's hand as there was a chance for ultimate waterworks. Instead they just stood next to each other with a door between them (you'll be able to see the image below) & it was incredibly moving. I loved it! They also had three different looks for one room, all fitting in with the white, diamante theme but a very different feel. The nighttime turned into a nightclub with comfy white couches, an amazing dance floor & the biggest LOVE letter lights I've seen. Finished off perfectly with Moet Champagne & sparklers.
One of my highlights of this wedding was meeting Louise's Nanny Bet, she was so sweet & I took time to talk to her & help her across the grounds when I could. Louise sent me a lovely message saying this:
"Morning lovely, I saw nanny bet yesterday and she told me to tell you how wonderful you were. She said that in all her 87 years of life no one had made her feel so special like we all did on our wedding day, she named you in particular."
This takes my 'job' to the next level. It isn't just to turn up take a few pictures & then give you the files. It's to make you happy, through the images but also face to face. My goal is to be there as a friend, to make you feel comfortable & enjoy the day in the best possible way & this also includes doing the same for your family. When I received this message, it meant so much.
Anyway! Take a look at their gorgeous day & I will get back to making other people happy by delivering their images on time!
