As soon as I met Jo at the beginning of last year I instantly knew I wanted to photograph her wedding. We instantly clicked & I felt like I was sitting with my friend - this always helps! If you have read one of my previous blogs on 'choosing your wedding photographer' you will know how passionate I am about making the right decision & the number one component being to like your photographer! I think Jo & I both knew we were on the same page so we both felt comfortable with me being the photographer for her & Michael's big day at Ashton Lodge.
Jo decided to add on my partner Rob as a second shooter at a later date as she wanted to make sure everything was documented, this is another thing I always advise, especially if you want more photos & nothing missed! When you scroll through you will be able to see the amount of moments captured & this happens more when I have Rob with me as we can both spend more time really capturing the in-between moments, whereas when I am alone I need to focus on trying to capture everything so it's slightly more rushed. You will also see lots of gorgeous pictures of Jo, & I always capture these shots but again the reason why there is more is due to me knowing Rob was downstairs getting the venue, guests, details etc. Hopefully this makes sense!
It was a gorgeous sunny day & I was excited for another reason, because Jo's dress was from my favourite bridal boutique Coco & Kate; & my expectations didn't fail me - it was stunning! As soon as we arrived we were welcomed like old friends & this carried through the whole day with all the guests. It was such a strong family unit & I especially loved the fact that Jo's stepdad walked her halfway down the isle & then her Dad met them & took her the rest of the way to Michael. I have never seen this before but it was truly lovely. Jo & the bridesmaids had planned to stand up & sing 'All You Need is Love' after the ceremony to surprise Michael, & it was hilarious as he had no idea what was happening & a few guests popped up with plastic saxophones joining in - really fun atmosphere! I think one of Jo's favourite moments was when she received a surprise personal message from Craig David! One of her friends works in PR so managed to get it for her as Jo is a big fan - you will be able to see the moment she found out when looking through the images below. After a fantastic day, we were then blessed with a gorgeous golden hour & it couldn't have been more perfect. Thank you Jo & Michael for having us! x
