What a magical February wedding Aless & Rob's was at the lovely Kingscote Barn Cotswolds. As soon as I arrived I was feeling very excited as the sun was shinning over the beautiful grounds surrounding the barn. Apart from the chilly breeze it really could've been a summer wedding.
Family & friends were decorating the barn when I arrived & it was really lovely seeing how personal & handmade everything was. I did have a mini panic when I saw both Aless & Rob decorating in the same room, but as Aless had such a clear vision for what she wanted she would not have been able to relax without being involved with the setup. So once I figured out it wasn't a mistake they were in the same room, I found it very refreshing. You should make your own 'rules' for YOUR day after all.
I was instantly drawn to the flowers & the bohemian style of them. I couldn't believe it when I was told Aless had got them the day before & Rob's auntie had bundled them together as well as creating bunting with them around the barn. They saved hundreds of pounds on flowers by doing this which just shows that some things can easily be done yourself, especially if you have family members with skills to help! Talking of skills, I don't think there's anything Aless can't do as she made their fabulous cake herself! You only need to look at the picture to see how amazing it was & I'm pretty sure it tasted delicious too. Not only this, you may notice the beautiful angel wings on the bottom of the veil, which she made herself. It was things like this that really stood out to me & I admired Aless for working so hard to make everything so personal & meaningful. They had a clear vision & style & this really shon through the day.
Lastly, I need to talk about the dress. Again an admirable & brave choice from Aless who didn't stick to the 'traditional' wedding gown; but why should she? I can't stress enough how important it is to plan & choose your day according to you both. You may think this is a silly thing to say but a lot of people spend time worrying about what the guests will think, what they can't have cause of certain people or what should normally happen at a wedding that they end up coming last. It's your day & your guests are there for you so they will love & support whatever you choose, & this is what was so apparent at this wedding.
I'll let the pictures show you more...
