When I photographed Emma & Matthew earlier on this year for their engagement shoot I instantly warmed to them & couldn't wait for their wedding day! They are a wonderful couple both with a fantastic sense of humour; that I wanted to capture in some of the photos, as you will see below. The ceremony was held in their family church - The New Life Wesleyan & it was filled with laughter & tears. Matthew's Godmother was the lady who married them which I found so lovely. Emma is an extremely talented singer & music is very important to her so the ceremony was filled with her friends & family singing beautiful, emotion packed songs which made me forget I was actually there photographing a wedding for a little while! Ultimate goosebumps throughout!
Then it was back to the action at Aston Hall where the majority of the photographs were taken. The whole afternoon was informal & relaxed which you will be able to see from my images. Both Emma, Matthew & myself all had the same idea regarding the photographs for this wedding so it was a perfect combination!
The surprise that followed was once we got to Aston Villa FC where the reception was held. Let's just say, I did not expect to be walking around the changing rooms, looking through all the shirts, showers & then walking onto the pitch whilst the fanfare was playing. It was incredibly fun & although I am not a football fan (& Matthew doesn't support Villa) it was still exciting. Matthew even got carried away & started doing pretend interviews to the camera in the interview room!
Finally the best part about this wedding for me was listening to Matthew's groom speech. It was beautiful, honest, funny & actually inspiring to hear such lovely things said about his love for Emma. I wasn't at this wedding for the evening celebrations so I left them to party the night away, however as I was saying goodbye after the speeches I started crying (happy tears) to Matthew & Emma...I had no control! Maybe I was tired, maybe my feet were hurting or maybe I was just taken aback by the overwhelming emotion & love their day had, & I think ultimately I was so grateful that I can call this my job & I witnessed such a gorgeous day. So Emma & Matthew - thank you!
